Budget 2025: Will Sitharaman ignite a green revolution in clean energy?

Volks Energie has partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to implement India’s first solar energy project utilizing Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This pioneering initiative spans 14 strategic locations across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, integrating a total battery capacity of 1.6 MWh. Piyush Goyal, CEO of Volks Energie, expressed pride in their collaboration, stating, “We are honoured to partner with BPCL to implement this pioneering project and contribute to India’s move towards sustainability and solar energy.” He emphasized that their expertise in deploying solar solutions with pipeline projects using Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries uniquely positions them to implement this LFP-based system. The deployment of LFP batteries offers benefits like improved safety, longer battery lifespan, and higher energy density. Volks Energie has committed to deploying batteries with world-class safety systems, including an automatic fire suppression system, to ensure no damage occurs to the sensitive equipment at the stations. Engineers India Limited will oversee the project as a consultant.
