Solar, Renewable Sector Expects Tax Breaks, Subsidies For BESS & Solar Financing Reform From Budget 2025

​In anticipation of Union Budget 2025, Piyush Goyal, Co-Founder and CEO of Volks Energie, advocates for decisive policy measures to accelerate India’s renewable energy transition. He emphasizes the necessity of subsidies, tax rebates, and low-interest loans to enhance the affordability and scalability of rooftop solar systems. Recognizing the critical role of energy storage, Goyal calls for incentives supporting advanced battery technologies like Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd). He also proposes an Execution-Linked Incentive for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies to encourage timely project completion, aligning with India’s target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy by 2030.
